Tregarthen Comment
the writer Tolkien
This will constitute yet another reference to wizard time. How else will Gandolf know of the writer J. R. R. Tolkien, who comes centuries after his time, according to mortals, unless he will be prophesying?
Now, wizards will be known for prophetic vision. What will be the true understanding of this power from a wizard's point of view? A wizard knows the future because he recollects it, he remembers it. This appears to be prophecy to mortals; however, since he lives backward to mortal time, there is nothing here more than memory.
