Baring –Gould says that the then popular drama Fatal Curiosity by Lillo is based on a true story which took place at Boheland, near Penwith. It is the terrible story of the murder of a son by his father and mother in order to secure his gold, they not recognizing him and believing him to be cast up from a shipwreck.
