Three Spirits Met in Cambourne

Another mine captain of the Cambourne district was passing through Truthall Lane one dark evening when he was met by three female spirits.

On his hailing them they replied in sepulchral tones" "The living have naught to do with the dead."

Upon their repeating this remark for the third time the worthy captain took the hint and laid his heels to the ground with all good speed-determined never to visit Truthall Lane after nightfall.
