The Ghostly Share Trader of Crane Near Camborne
Cornish Occult Folktale

A 19thC Cornish ghost of a mine captain still conducts business on moonlight nights with ghostly customers.

Another haunter of this village [the hamlet of Crane, near Camborne], for whose presence it is less easy to account, was the spirit of an old 'bal' (mine) captain who, during his life, had been a great buyer and seller of mine shares, and who after his death might frequently be seen, on moonlight nights, sitting in the doorway of his office, still doing business with ghostly customers.

(Jenkin, Cornwall and Its People, page 268; quoting Mr Jim Thomas.)

I wonder what ghosts do with mine shares?
